Just a heads up that the Proctor and Gamble insert will be the only insert in the newspaper on Easter Sunday. Their website says “savings over $59” which actually seems kind of low, so I wouldn’t be surprised to see a small insert. Daily Chatter: 3/28/13
So apparently I have really bad luck with glass jars. You’ll recall my exploding jars of refried beans (OK, so that could have been prevented), and a year or so ago I gouged my hand when opening a pickle jar (I swear it was defective). And last night, I was opening a jar of red wine (it’s delicious in marinara sauce!) and somehow the bottom of the bottle broke. Like, the bottom completely fell out for no apparent reason, spilling an entire bottle of red wine and shards of glass all over me, the counter, and our new tile floor that we had just finishing grouting a few hours earlier.
Thankfully, no one was hurt this time and I’m glad to know that our new tile and grout didn’t stain. But I’m a little leary of opening glass bottles!
Oh yeah, the new tile – I’ll share more about it in the next Moving Along update, but we finally finished it yesterday and while I am exceedingly pleased with the result, I’m not sure if that pleasure is as much as the pleasure of having my kitchen and bathroom (and dining room, which was basically a workshop) back.
Well, this could qualify as the most boring Daily Chatter ever, but since I can’t think of anything else to say I really should get to work on the other posts I’ve promised various people I would write! (Cooking from scratch, working from home, etc.)
