I suppose it could still snow (we had a very light dusting last night) but my kitchen is definitely transitioning from winter to spring! This month’s Eat Well, Spend Less theme fit in perfectly. Six of us bloggers shared tips and musing on what we are looking forward to doing as the weather gets warmer:
Mandi from Easy Homemade: Mandi’s got a list of forty-six ways to serve fruits and vegetables for snacks. I’m actually considering phasing out snacks for our kids but these are some great ideas to make sure if we do eat snacks, they are healthy!
Jessica from Life as Mom: Jessica goes through seven spring fruits and vegetables and gives recipe ideas for each one. In keeping with my goal of getting more variety in my diet, I need to choose a few of these recipes to try myself!
Shaina from Food for My Family: Shaina shares tips for spring cleaning your pantry, including a handy guide to know how long a variety of pantry staples keep.
Katie from Kitchen Stewardship: Katie had some good information on the nutrition benefits of greens, which are in abundance at this time of year (especially if you are part of a CSA or other similar program), and shared how to dehydrate them so you can enjoy them all year long.
Amy from Kingdom First Mom: Amy has some handy tips on preparing and preserving the fruits and veggies that will soon be on sale here, there, and everywhere.
Carrie (me!) from Colorado Bargains: I wrote about five changes that I’m planning to make as the weather changes from winter to spring. I’m getting my strategy together now so that we can eat well and spend less during what’s sure to be a hectic next few months as we get the house ready to sell and hopefully move!
