Well, I feel like we really live in the country now because we’ve dealt with mice. Twice. I’m ready for spring to come so that the warmth of the house isn’t an attraction (please do not dash my hopes that this will happen!). We are pretty confident that they come in when the back door gets left open as it periodically does with seven people coming in and out. We’ve had this part of the house down to the studs (and cement wall) and we are pretty confident they aren’t coming in through a hole. At least they are predictable and always go to the same places, but yuck. I hate them.
My sister released a new song for elementary piano students that is really fun, and it’s on sale through Saturday – click here to check out “The Booger Song“. Yes, really! It’s fun for kids but not distasteful. :)
I’m still plugging away at cooking through The Smitten Kitchen Cookbook. Jeremy boasted to a friend the other night that I was nearly halfway through it and I said no, no, maybe 1/3rd of the way. And then I counted and I’m only about 1/5th of the way through it. Ha. I’ve got a ways to go! But I’ve tried a lot of new recipes this month and several new ingredients, so I feel like I’m making progress.
We finally got internet again (we unintentionally and then intentionally went without for about four months after we moved to our new house) last week and while it’s nice having it again, I’m really glad that we went without for an extended period of time. It really helped us develop some new habits – I will try to write more about it soon!
