I heard about Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, a program that sends free books via mail, several years ago but at the time, it wasn’t available in our area. The other day, the library had a flyer about it – El Paso and Teller county residents can now sign up! It looks like Pikes Peak United Way has brought this program to our area, so thanks to them.
The program sends a book every month until your child is five years old. (If you move out the area, I believe you may have to check for participation your new location.) It’s a free program and you can sign up online here. There is only an option to register one child You can register additional qualifying children after you submit the form for the first one. (Thanks to several readers for the update!)
By the way, every April there’s a program where four-year-olds can pick up a free book at the library or other participating locations – I’ll post about that when it gets closer, or you can get info here.
And finally, I’m still updating my book list with books that we’ve enjoyed reading recently!
