Enjoy Colorado’s museums, zoos, and events for free or at a discount every month!  Here’s a list of the free and discount days for December 2014:

  • Lowes Build and Grow Kids Workshops: free every other week (more info)
  • Denver Museum of Nature of Science: free on December 1st (more info)
  • Denver Children’s Museum: free on December 2nd from 4-8 PM only (more info)
  • Home Depot Kids Workshop: free on December 6th (more info)
  • Denver Art Museum: free on December 6th (more info) and free admission for ages 18 and under from December 20-January 4 (more info)
  • Denver Museum of Miniatures, Dolls, and Toys: suggested donation day on December 7th (more info)
  • The Money Museum: free on December 20th (more info)

$5 Josh and John’s Gift Certificates for $2 through Monday

Josh and John’s Ice Cream Shop is doing their annual gift certificate sale: through Monday, December 1st, you can pick up $5 gift certificates for just $2!  There’s no limit to the number that you can buy, but you do have to buy at least ten.  You can call ahead to purchase them over the phone if you can’t make it to the shop.  Also, after Monday, the price will be $3 – not as good, but still a discount!  Find out more here.

Tree Lighting Ceremony at The Broadmoor Tonight

The annual “White Lights Ceremony” at the Broadmoor takes place tonight (Saturday, November 29th).  Starting at 4:30, they’ll have live music, and the lighting ceremony will take place at 6:30 according to the Gazette.  Donations for the Empty Stocking Fund will be accepted.  Find out more information here.

Christmas Stroll in OCC This Saturday

This Saturday, November 29th, is Old Colorado City’s Christmas Stroll.  They’ll have live music, Dickens carolers, carriage rides, and more – plus, free refreshments.  The event takes place from 5-8 PM, and shops will be open late for this event.
