Rescued Hearts Unique Boutique Thrift Store

A friend recently remarked that VBS is an expensive activity – not because of the cost of the program, but because we moms spend the time shopping!  It’s definitely been true for me; I’ve done more thrift store shopping in the past week than I have all year!

I stopped into the Rescued Hearts Unique Boutique, near the intersection of Academy and Austin Bluffs.  It’s a small store, but it’s packed full of all sorts of items (particularly pet items):

I was mainly looking for children’s books, which they didn’t have much of, but I did find one (it was on sale for half-price, which made it $1.00), and a nice antique picnic basket for $5.00!
