All marked clearance will be 50% off at Plato’s Closet starting this Friday, September 2nd, while it lasts! So far, I’ve only seen the news that this is at the location at 7529 N. Academy, and I’ll update if I find out it’s at the Citadel location as well.

Free Hot Dogs + Ice-Eating Contest at Rita’s on Monday
Rita’s Italian Ice, which just opened at 7866 N. Academy, is holding a Labor Day barbecue with free hot dogs for everyone from 12-2 (while supplies last)! They’ll also have an ice-eating contest at 1:30 – whoever finishes their large ice wins free ice for a year! Details are posted on their Facebook page.
Hot Air Balloon Festival is This Weekend in Memorial Park
The annual hot air balloon festival will be held this Labor Day weekend in Memorial Park, with lift-offs scheduled for Saturday, Sunday, and Monday mornings; balloon glow events on Saturday and Sunday evenings; and other activities at the park throughout the day. Big Sales on Ski & Snowboard Equipment This Weekend
Though Sports Authority’s annual Labor Day Sniagrab sale is no longer due to them filing for bankruptcy, but Colorado Ski and Golf’s Ski Rex and Christy Sports’ Powder Daze sales are still going on this Labor Day weekend, with savings up to 75% off ski and snowboard gear and apparel.
Ski Rex is held at all Colorado Ski and Golf locations, while Christy Sports’ Powder Daze is only at select locations.
3 Ways To Get Free Ski Tickets for Kids
Did you know that there are several different programs that offer free or cheap lift tickets for kids?
Parents can sign up their kids aged K-5th grade at at Colorado Ski and Golf, Colorado Ski and Sport, or Boulder Ski Deals for the Epic Schoolkids Pass. Each child gets four free tickets to Vail, four to Beaver Creek, four to Keystone, and four to Breckenridge, plus 1 free lesson at any of those resorts when you also rent equipment.
The deadline to register is October 9th, and parents need to bring in the information listed on this page.
The Colorado Ski Country Passport program is for 5th and 6th graders: the free Passport for 5th graders provides 3 days of skiing or snowboarding at each of 20 participating Colorado resorts (60 days total). The 6th grade Passport ($105-125) provides 4 days of skiing or snowboarding at each of 20 participating Colorado resorts (80 days total).

A-Basin has a Kids Free 2 Ski program where ages 6 to 12 can get two free days of skiing with no blackout dates, plus a 50% discount on a lesson! Registration is open through November 6th; find out all the details here.
