I’ve been doing quite a bit of thrift store shopping lately – mostly because I’ve been collecting white dinner plates for a big dinner I’m planning. (It’s such a handy excuse because I love buying dishes! :)
But when I go, I always stop at the book section, because I can’t resist. Here are some of my scores lately:
My favorite Goodwill for books is the one near Powers and Constitution – I almost always find good ones there. I don’t mind telling you that, because if you shop there and love good books, I figure that you’ll probably end up donating some good books that you have duplicates of to that location. ;)
Um, hardcover Little House books in mint condition ($1.99-$2.99 each)? It matters not that we have all the books already; I can’t ever resist hardcover. Plus, I figure I need six copies of all the great books so that each of my kids can take a set with them and I still need one to read to my grandkids, right?
These were from the Goodwill that I rarely find good books at (Austin Bluffs) but this trip was a different story!
This was an Arc score. I don’t shop at Arc a lot, because I think their prices are higher than Goodwill, but whenever I do, I always find fantastic books. I know, I should shop on Saturdays when they’re 50% off, but it’s rare that I go thrifting on Saturday.
Our book collection has grown quite a lot in the past few years thanks to thrift stores, and now I’m really trying to focus on buying hardcover books for longevity.
