Free Admission to History Colorado Museums on Colorado Day

Colorado celebrates its statehood on August 1st each year, and History Colorado Center in Denver, along with their other member museums, offers free admission for this event:

Join us to make adobe bricks, watch pigs perform tricks, and meet the creators of our Postcard Colorado and Self-Preservation art installations. We’ll have performances, demonstrations, cake and more!

Plus, meet the new State Historians! Join the new council for ice cream and trivia from 2 to 3 pm. Free day includes admission to all museums and exhibits!

Free Admission to Denver Firefighters Museum

The Denver Firefighters Museum will be offering free admission on Saturday, August 4th! I haven’t been to this museum, but here’s a bit about it from their website:

The Museum offers outstanding exhibits on the history of firefighting in Denver, focusing on the Denver Fire Department.

We also provide innovative and exciting hands-on activities that allow visitors of all ages to interact with the traditional exhibits.

Note that the museum does not have its own parking, so be prepared to pay for street or lot parking. Find out more about the Denver Firefighters Museum on their website.

You can also visit the Colorado Springs Fire Museum for free all the time!

Free STEAM Fest Event at Sand Creek Library

On Wednesday, August 1st, Pikes Peak Community College and Pikes Peak Library District are teaming up to host a free STEAM event for kids at Sand Creek Library:

Students can earn backpacks and other school supplies by completing the STEAM Ticket to Launch. Activites include:

Ollie the Robot Obstacle course,
Cool Science demonstrations,
KEPC/PPCC-tv,
Snap Circuits,
3-D Pens,
Magnetic Art,
Blackout Poetry,
MakerSpace activities and several other stations
