There are a ton of new restaurants slated to open in Colorado Springs in the next few months! We have the grand openings page that gives you the scoop on all the ones we know about, but I wanted to highlight a few here:
Local favorite King’s Chef diner has opened a new location in Fountain, in the space that formerly housed Sarge’s Grill. They’re located at 6436 S. Highway 85/87.
A new Chick-fil-A is getting ready to break ground on the northeast side of town: their new location will be at 5905 Dublin Blvd., behind Fuzzy’s Taco Shop at Dublin and Powers. Their tentative opening date is January 2019. A Menchie’s Frozen Yogurt will also be going in that same area.
The Egg & I restaurant on N. Academy has closed, and in its place is First Watch, another breakfast and brunch place which is actually owned by the same corporation. The Egg & I restaurant at 5838 Barnes Rd. is also being converted to a First Watch and will open on August 18th.
We rarely go out for breakfast but happened to eat at a First Watch on vacation this year and I liked it enough that I might be tempted to try it again here locally!
New restaurants are starting to open at the Highlands at Briargate development (the new one next to Focus on the Family). Basil & Barley Pizzeria Napoletana opens on August 25th and will be joined by Chuy’s and I believe a Smashburger at some point.
And finally, Decadent Dessert Bar at 13375 Voyager Pkwy. (next to Sprouts) is opening this Friday, August 17th. I’m excited to have a dessert place that’s open in the evenings.
You can check out more grand openings here, and I always appreciate it when you send your tips (even if it’s just “what’s going in at this location?” – sometimes I can figure it out!), so please feel free to send me a message!
