Old Colorado City is hosting their annual Christmas Stroll this Saturday, November 30th, with Dickens carolers, Comet the reindeer, and more events; plus many businesses will be offering shopping sales and treats to enjoy! The Christmas tree in Acacia Park will be lit up for the first time in 2019 this Saturday, November 23rd, at the official tree lighting ceremony. In addition to the lighting of the tree, they’ll have activities for the kids, live music, and of course, the ice skating rink is now open as well! All of Colorado’s forty-two state parks will be offering free admission for “Fresh Air Friday” – what most of us refer to as “Black Friday”, the Friday after Thanksgiving! Around here, you can check out Cheyenne Mountain State Park in the south part of town, or Castlewood Canyon State Park just a bit north of the Springs (and of course there are other great state parks with a little bit of driving!).
