As part of National Park Week, all national parks will be offering free admission on Saturday, September 28th! Here’s a list of the national parks/national monuments that are waiving their normal entrance fee on this day.
Who Gives a Scrap will host a free craft supplies exchange at the Sand Creek Library on Saturday, September 14th. At this event, you can bring usable-but-unwanted craft supplies and exchange them for tickets to purchase other craft supplies. Get more information on their Facebook event page.
The 2019 What If Festival will be held on Saturday, September 14th, in downtown Colorado Springs. They’ll have ninja obstacle courses, activities and demonstrations, live performances, a Chalk It Up Challenge, and a lot more. Check out all of the information on the official What If website.
The annual Smithsonian Museum Day is coming up on Saturday, September 21st: visit dozens of different museums in Colorado (and across the country) for free when you register for a ticket here. The ticket is valid for one person plus one guest, and you must register ahead of time for a specific museum to get the ticket. You can only register for one museum to attend on Museum Day.
There are twenty-nine Colorado museums participating this year, including our local ProRodeo Hall of Fame, Western Museum of Mining and Industry, and Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center.
The Episcopal Church Women’s Thrift House is having a fill-a-bag sale this Saturday, August 17th: they’ll provide a paper bag and everything you can fit inside it will be $10 total! The sale includes clothes, women’s boutique rack, shoes, housewares, collectibles, books, toys, baby items; and excludes jewelry and furniture.

This Saturday, August 17th, is Cheyenne Mountain Zoo’s annual Teddy Bear Day: kids aged 3-11 can bring their stuffed animal with them to the zoo and they’ll receive a $10 discount on admission! (Admission for ages two and under is only 75¢.) The zoo will have special “medical checkups” for the stuffed animals as well as additional activities at Moose Lodge. Find out complete details here.
And, if you’re military, mark your calendar for the zoo’s Military Appreciation Days from September 9th-15th, where you can get half-off the regular admission price to the zoo.
The American Nusimatic Association’s Money Museum offers free admission to everyone on the third Saturday of each month – that’s this Saturday, August 17th. The museum is located on the campus of Colorado College and you can see more about their exhibits here.
