The kids and I stopped into the downtown Josh and John’s this week and discovered that they have a great deal for kids: a kid’s scoop in a cup, cake cone, or waffle cone, is just $0.93 (or $1.00 with tax)! It’s for ages 12 and under (I think it also said ages 70 and up) only.

This looks like an ongoing deal, but I hadn’t seen it before: La Baguette has a happy hour for their coffee drinks. From 2-4 PM, all coffee drinks are 50% off. I think this is only valid at the La Baguette downtown. (There’s one in Old Colorado City, but it looks like they might be owned by different people – for some reason, I always assumed they were the same company but they have separate websites so I guess maybe not.)

PB & Jellies NY Deli in Chapel Hills Mall has 1/2 price sandwiches every Wednesday from 2 PM to close. We tried it last Wednesday and will go back again. As you may know they use fresh bread from Denver Bakery, gluten-free bread, preservative-free jams, make their own peanut butter from Whole Foods peanuts and have won the Independent’s Award for Best Reuben Sandwich.

Here’s an awesome deal at a local pizza joint: Leon Gessi’s New York Pizza has an all-you-can-eat pizza and salad deal on Tuesday nights from 5 to 8 PM. It’s $7.45 for adults, $3.99 for kids under twelve, and free for kids under five. And, it includes a drink!

After hearing about Rizuto’s from you guys for years, our family finally made it in to this local ice cream shop on the northeast side! The big draw of Rizuto’s is their $1.00 soft-serve cones, but they actually had quite a bit of other stuff on their menu:
As you can see, their kid-sized soft serve cone is $1.00, then there’s a “small” option for $1.50, and “medium” for $3.50. The kid size is what most people would consider regular, and then they pile on even more soft serve for the small and mediums! (The cone is the same size, just more ice cream on top.)
They also have ice cream, gelato, drinks, candy, and more; at very reasonable prices. The store itself was kind of dirty and they were pretty crowded on a Saturday night, but we did find a place to sit.
Now, I can’t tell you that this is the best soft serve I’ve ever had – truthfully, it was kind of blah (but then again, soft serve usually is, I suppose). But our bill for our whole family was $6.00 which is a whole lot cheaper than we could have done anywhere else, and my kids just like the idea of going out for a special treat. :)
I feel like I’ve crossed something off a Colorado Springs bucket list now that I’ve been to Rizuto’s!
